About the GFKC
The Grimsby Freestyle Kickboxing Club prides itself on being one of the premier martial arts clubs in the area due to the professional and friendly instruction along with a great team of over 200 students.
Established in 1997 by Dale Lowe, and now run by John Tomlinson the club has produced many champions both nationally and across the world alongside promoting a safe and healthy lifestyle to all ages.
All our instructors are certified with CRB checks, teacher certificates, first aid trained and fully insured to provide quality instruction to all students.
Our wide range of classes are designed to suit all levels of fitness and ability, teaching the fundamentals of kickboxing and self defence as well as having fun. Contact is only made during sparring which is completely optional so whether you just want to get fit, start your journey to black belt status or compete on the fight circuit, we welcome kids from the age of 5 and adults to join our academy. We believe it will “Change Your Life”

THE GYM!
CLASS PRICES
Our club is a pay as you go academy so there’s no need to have direct debits coming out your bank and no contracts tying you in for a year. Your first 2 lessons will be free of charge so just bring yourself, a drink and maybe bring a friend along too. If you enjoy the classes and would like to continue training with the club then we have 2 options of joining which are:
*£35 Juniors / £40 Adults – Joining fee includes:
*Lifetime membership to the academy
*A pair of lightweight GFKC trousers for training
*A club t-shirt
*£50 Juniors / £55 Adults – Joining fee includes:
*Lifetime membership to the academy
*A pair of lightweight GFKC trousers for training
*A club t-shirt
*Student licence for one year entitling you to grade & spar with leather backed
record book (Usually £25)
*Please note that this is a martial arts school of excellence and a joining fee is compulsory after your 2 free lessons!
**All kids classes cost £3
**Adult Beginner classes cost £3:50 (Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 6:15pm)
**All other Adult classes cost £4 (Excluding Fridays 6 -8pm)
If you would like any other training equipment like gloves, mouth guards, head guards or leisure wear then please ask one of the
instructors who will gladly help you out with your request and give you a catalogue.
SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
The senior Instructor and owner of the GFKC is John Tomlinson who has over 25 years of martial arts experience in a variety of disciplines. John is trained to a high standard in the art of kickboxing and has learnt from the best instructors and fighters over the years. He leads his team of in house instructors to deliver the highest quality of instruction to all students and is always searching for new ideas to improve not only himself but his team too. John has competed in full contact, light continuous and point fighting for many years at a high level winning various titles along the way. He has represented Great Britain on many occasions travelling all over the world to experience what other countries have to offer the art of kickboxing. John has created a strong link with the Specialist health promotion service through the NHS and is always working to change the way people live their lives and to experience better health and well-being. Always on hand to answer any questions or queries the students and instructors may have, John is very proud of what the GFKC stands for and the friendly atmosphere it delivers.
